MSM - AC/DC Chat on line transcript

DishDiva : Hi everyone and welcome to MSN Live!

DishDiva : We know you love AC/DC, so right now we are taking your
questions. Whisper your great question to Ask_Questions_Live.

DishDiva : This afternoon MSN is pleased to welcome AC/DC to MSN Live!
We're joining AC/DC live from the Stiff Upper Lip Tour.

DishDiva : Guys, welcome to MSN Live! It's great to see you!
AC_DC_Live : Hello!

DishDiva : I understand you guys are in Florida tonight. How is the tour
going so far?
AC_DC_Live : Been good. We just kicked off. Thi sis our second time
around America. Tomorrow we will be in Orlando and then traveling through
America.

DishDiva : You guys have been at this for a long time. Have fans changed
much over the years?
AC_DC_Live : No. I wouldn't say there is any chnages but fashion has
changed. But that's it really.

DishDiva : Have you changed?
AC_DC_Live : Well, I am still the same size since 1974. (laughs)

DishDiva : Let's see what your fans are saying. . .
DishDiva : Tony_the_Silient Asks: Do you believe your music attracts all
types of people?
AC_DC_Live : From what I see it attracts all different kinds of people.

DishDiva : >Let_There_Be_AC-DC Asks: To Malcolm, do you ever help your
brother develop his concert solo's?
AC_DC_Live : No, no. He helps me play my rythym.

DishDiva : Johan_Salmins Asks: Are there any special incidents (good or
bad) from the Stiff Upper Lip tour that you can tell us about?
AC_DC_Live : It was a good rock and roll show.
AC_DC_Live : Nothing bad has happened since we have been on the road.
Most of it has been a lot of fun.

DishDiva : Is touring different now than it was in the 70's for you?
AC_DC_Live : Well, touring gets bigger and there is a lot more stage
production on the road but the actual music you know, is still rock and roll
so that hasn't changed.

DishDiva : AlternativeToast Asks: I know "Bedlam in Belgium" was written
because of a specific incident, are there any other songs that relate to
your real life experience? (I've heard a small story relating to "she's got
b***".....and how it was written for his wife, and then they broke up.

AC_DC_Live : That was Bon. He wrote that because he said he felt hands
below his waist and he thought it was instant love. He thought.
AC_DC_Live : I suppose some songs we have written like "Problem Child"
reminds him of me (Angus.)

DishDiva : You a problem child, Angus. That's a surprise. (laughs)
DishDiva : Wyldephang Asks: How do you feel about having Slash's Snakepit
open for you'r acts?
AC_DC_Live : It was good. I think he is ill at the moment but he did the
last part of the American tour and that was great.

DishDiva : How long does it take for you to prepare for a tour?
AC_DC_Live : It takes a few months because you put the production
together and the staging etc. We had met last year with a lot of staging
guys and it took from March to about July or so.

DishDiva : TheRealBlickFan says: Napster thoughts?
AC_DC_Live : Well, I used to swap comics as a kid, you know. I don't
know. I suppose how deep it is. Free? Well, I'd like my breakfast for free,
you know?
AC_DC_Live : As long as they're stealing our furniture. (laughs)

DishDiva : I don't know, Malcolm. If you let them, they probably would!
DishDiva : kell76 Asks: Are you guys big wwf fans cause I saw you on
Saturday night live with The Rock and I was wondering if you were?
AC_DC_Live : Yeah, yeah.
AC_DC_Live : I mean, I couldn't physically do it. Maybe just a little arm
wrestling!

DishDiva : We are talking with Angus and Malcolm from AC/DC LIVE from
their Stiff Upper Lip Tour in Florida.
DishDiva : We know you love AC/DC, so right now we are taking your
questions. Whisper your great question to Ask_Questions_Live.
DishDiva : MysteriosofromGeorgia Asks: Will there be another Box Set
featuring choice cuts from the Brian Johnson era?

<MSN Event Manager>AC/DC is shaking up MSN! Chat live with these metal gods
right now on MSNLive!! http://chat.msn.com/chatroom.asp?rm=onstage

AC_DC_Live : I don't know. The one we did we special because it was a
hard-core Collector's Edition. It is hard to say really what we will do over
the years. When we did that we were committed to our record company to
release a Box set but we didn't want to release a Greatest Hits or
something. We wanted to release something a bit different.

DishDiva : BTW, we have lots of Brazilian fnas here tonight.
AC_DC_Live : Angus says: It's that Latin beat we put out!

DishDiva : Jewells1959: Do you play most of your songs in regular tune or
is there alot of them where you tune down a step?
AC_DC_Live : They are all in concert pitch. That sounds very technical
doesn't it. That is about the only musical term we know. (laughs) We always
say up at the top of the guitar is a place you don't want to go too far.
AC_DC_Live : On Malcolm's guitar, he took his middle pick out and now
uses it as an ashtray.

DishDiva : kriggi_1â"¢ Asks: How do you feel about the direction of music
in the last couple of years when looking at the new generation of rock bands
like korn and papa roach compared to the music of the early years of your
beginning does it look like a retro feel is coming back?
AC_DC_Live : I think there are more younger bands who are starting to get
back into the straight ahead rock music. That is a good sign.

DishDiva : Casanova1957 Asks: Who was your inspiration while learning the
guitar, Angus?
AC_DC_Live : Angus says: Chuck Berry was a big inspiration.

DishDiva : Rock on with AC/DC's music. Find it on eshop at
http://eshop.msn.com/fts/ftsresults.asp?textonly=1&searchtext=ac/dc+stiff+up
per+lip&ptnrid=5
DishDiva : KentAI23 says: What's has been you favourite tour since you
started playing together?
AC_DC_Live : I think because of how long we have been together there have
been a lot of great shows and tours. That would be a tough choice.

DishDiva : Layseegrtr Asks: Who is your favorite female rocker?
AC_DC_Live : Tina Turner does a great version of rock and roll tunes.

DishDiva : otsu2 Asks: Malcolm, does your sobriety make playing music that
much greater?
AC_DC_Live : You remember if it was great, afterwards. (laughs)

DishDiva : mstr19 says: Over the years bands who started in the same
decade you did have changed with the times in order to keep fanbase and
sales, you guys don't change, but still keep fanbase and sales, how?
AC_DC_Live : By not changing. We are stuck in Groundhog Day. (Malcolm and
Angus laugh)

DishDiva : AngusFaninOhio Asks: What did you guys think of the VH1 Behind
the music about you?
AC_DC_Live : It reminded me of "Cops" a little bit. (laughs) You know
that show? Or "America's Most Unwanted" or something like that.

DishDiva : Angues, both you and Malcolm are funny guys. Do you think that
comes through in your music at all?
AC_DC_Live : You gotta have a bit of humor, I think. Especially with rock
and roll. If you took it too seriously, you wouldn't be "Behind the Scenes."

DishDiva : null says: When you create your music do you have a message in
them? If so what do you try to get across?
AC_DC_Live : That is good rock and roll. That is the message. We tried to
avoid any preaching. People go other places when you look for something like
that. You turn on CNN or something like that.

DishDiva : Sproof says: Are they Going TO make a Concert Video Like "No
Bull " for Stiff Upper Lip?
AC_DC_Live : I believe so. I think they are researching something now.
There will probably be some live footage shot somewhere. Coming soon to a
channel near you.

DishDiva : Basicarmy says: How involved are you online?
AC_DC_Live : Malcolm surfs a little.
AC_DC_Live : Malcolm says: When it first started, I got around. These
days it is too busy. I would rather pick up the phone. It is a good tool.
When it gets a little better than it will be the norm. It needs a bigger
bandwidth yet.
AC_DC_Live : Angus says: I go online when I look for something that
interests me like how many fleas you can get on a poodle or something like
that (Angus and Malcolm laughs)

DishDiva : Odie says: Do you guys get out and see some of places in the
towns you go to?
AC_DC_Live : Sometimes. If you get the time you try to get out and about.
AC_DC_Live : There is definitely life out there past the hotel lobby.

DishDiva : Anything interesting that you've seen outside lobby?
AC_DC_Live : Every time I go out I think things are crazy. After all,
when I am out and about that is a crazy thing too.

DishDiva : RighteousFawn says: Cristy from KY wants to know what is their
definition of the stiff upper lip?
AC_DC_Live : Angus says: I suppose, keep strong in the face of adversity.
It sounds very pompous but then again, the English were. (laughs) It sounded
like a good fun title. If you actually look at rock and roll through the
years. . .you have Elvis Presley and Mick Jagger and even SuperModels and
they all pout their lips and it has a connection with the public.
AC_DC_Live : I have a bit of a big upper lip myself and if you look at
"Highway to Hell" you can see that for yourself. (laughs) You can see my
lips pouting saying "Buy this record. This man looks hungry."

DishDiva : AstoundingAcdc Asks: If you were stuck on an island and could
pick only one ac/dc album to listen to, what one would you choose?
AC_DC_Live : Malcolm says: Louie Armstrong if I am on a desert island.
AC_DC_Live : Angus says: I'd take the whole collection and make a raft
(laughs)

DishDiva : Looks like you could survive on "Survivor", Angus!
DishDiva : sugar_64 Asks: What do you think about the twisted tune dirty
deeds?
AC_DC_Live : Twisted tune? It is a good dirty song. (laughs)

DishDiva : We have been rocking to that tune all day here in the studio.
AC_DC_Live : Good! It's been a pleasure!

DishDiva : Tony_Soprano Asks: Was Bon as cool as he looks in all the
pictures?
AC_DC_Live : Yeah. He was larger than life. Very hip and cool. Yup.

DishDiva : helloboys says: Is there anything you like fans to throw to
you onstage?
AC_DC_Live : Malcolm says: Money! (laughing)

DishDiva : Do girls still throw hotel keys and lingerie?
AC_DC_Live : They're not girls. It's their mothers now! (Malcolm & Angus)

DishDiva : johnnytinva Asks: do you get tired of playing live, night
after night?
AC_DC_Live : No. That is what we do best. If you like it and enjoy it,
that is the fun thing. That is the reason you are there and the highlight of
your day.

DishDiva : Angus, Malcolm, I know you need to head out. Last question
from NikkiinSoucal who says: What can fans like me expect in the future?
There will never be another AC/DC.
AC_DC_Live : Angus says: A lot more records and a lot more touring.

DishDiva : Angus, Malcolm, thanks for joining us today on MSN Live! Best
of luck of the tour!
AC_DC_Live : When we are in your area, come and see us!

DishDiva : Rock on with AC/DC's music. Find it on eshop at

DishDiva : Check out AC/DC at their official sites at

AC_DC_Live : You know, I heard Geroge W. needed help with that amry, so.
