The new Chrome Dreams AC/DC documentry DVD "And then there was Rock - Life before Brian" was released in the U.K. on the 31st October 2005.
As the DVD has not been authorised by the band or the management of AC/DC no AC/DC music or interviews with current band members are featured in the DVD.
However this DVD will be of interest as it does include some unique film footage of Bon Scott with his pre-AC/DC band Fraternity in the studio.
Two members of the original AC/DC line-up are interviewed throughout the documentry, and as a result former singer Dave Evans and former drummer Colin Burgess
talk quite a bit about the very early days of the band.
An insight into the early school life of the Young brothers and Bon Scott in Australia is provided by the interviewing of old school friends.
Perhaps an opportunity to further investigate the scottish roots of the Young brothers time in Glasgow, and Bon's time in Kirriemuir
has been missed. However for the true fans it will be interesting to hear the personal memories of school friends before either the Young brothers or Bon made it famous.
Vince Lovegrove the former co-singer with Bon in the Valentines and life-long friend of Bon is interviewed throughout the documentry and his recollections are sure to be of interest
to fans of Bon Scott. The documentry also includes rare film footage of Bon Scott singing in the studio with Fraternity as well as footage of Bon racing about on a motorbike from the personal
collection of Vince Lovegrove.
Bon Scott and AC/DC biographers Clinton Walker and Malcolm Dome are also extensively interviewed through out the documentry.
The documentry does cover the general history of the AC/DC in the Bon Scott years of AC/DC. But probably the inclusion
of unique and rare footage of Bon Scott with Fraternity will be of interest to life-long fans of the band.
