The Easybeats are known to AC/DC fans as the band that featured George Young (brother of Angus and Malcolm).Source Sydney Morning Herald AC/DC tribute band AB/CD is to hit Blairgowrie at the Gig on Saturday, June 16. AB/CD have toured for a long time now as AC/DC impersonators and are recognised as one of the top tribute bands around, said local heavy metal expert Jimmy Gazrock Low. "They play material all through AC/DC's long history -from their first album High Voltage to more recent material in the 90s," said Gaz. "Stand out tracks are Whole Lotta Rosie, Let There Be Rock, The Jack, Problem Child, and Hells Bells. "The guitarist even dresses up as Angus Young I and copies all his movements on stage. This is definitely not a night for the faint hearted! "It should be a memorable night for rock fans." AC/DC's Detroit concert for the 2nd May and the gig for the 1st May in Madison, Wis were reported to be cancelled, due to frontman Brian Johnson suffering from throat problems, according to promoters. The band plans to reschedule the dates. The band Warrant are to release an album called "Under the influence" in June which will feature
a cover version of the classic AC/DC track Down Payment Blues.Warrant (www.warrantweb.net) AC/DC music has apparentenly been used in a TV commercial in Australia and New Zealand for Holden (Cars/trucks) The track used is a version of Thunderstruck believed to be played by a tribute band.
