Die Toten Hosen German Punk Rock Band "Die toten Hosen" from Dusseldorf will open four of the seven AC/DC shows in Germany. According to their home page, they are going to play in Hockenheim, Cologne, Nuremberg and Lausitzring.

Hollywood's Rockwalk - On the 14th May the Black Crowes joined the likes of AC/DC in the Hollywood Rock Walk. Pictures and videos of AC/DC's induction back in September 2000 can be found at www.rockwalk.com


Scottish Rockers Travis performed a cover version of AC/DC's Back in Black during their concert at the Leeds Town Hall (May 28th) , The show was recorded by Radio 1.

The poll was conducted and conpiled in celebration of 75 years of the Australian Performing Rights Association.

Rock n Roll Fantasy Rock n Roll Fantasy - "My Life and Times with AC/DC, Van Halen, Kiss..." by Susan Masino is a recently released CD-ROM which includes over 60 rare rock photos and a 30 minute AC/DC audio (MP3) interview from 1977.

Former AC/DC Producer Harry Vanda (pictured left) looks set to collect an award from the Australian Performing Right Association. The classic Easybeats track "Friday on my mind" is hotly tipped to be voted as the best Australian song of all time. The Easybeats are known to AC/DC fans as the band that featured George Young (brother of Angus and Malcolm).

Blairgowrie Scotland - Top tribute band for Blair.
AC/DC tribute band AB/CD is to hit Blairgowrie at the Gig on Saturday, June 16.
AB/CD have toured for a long time now as AC/DC impersonators and are recognised as one of the top tribute bands around, said local heavy metal expert Jimmy Gazrock Low.
"They play material all through AC/DC's long history -from their first album High Voltage to more recent material in the 90s," said Gaz. "Stand out tracks are Whole Lotta Rosie, Let There Be Rock, The Jack, Problem Child, and Hells Bells.
"The guitarist even dresses up as Angus Young I and copies all his movements on stage. This is definitely not a night for the faint hearted! "It should be a memorable night for rock fans." Tickets are on sale at the Gig'and the Dreadnought at £6and are expected to be sold out by June 16.

Allan welcomes back the amazing AC/DC. This week's show features segments with BON SCOTT recorded by Allan just before his tragic death. This did not air as part of the show back on March 27th

AC/DC's concert at Albany on the 9th May was reviewed in the Times Union (www.timesunion.com)
The New York concert at Madison Square Garden was also review in the New York Post (www.nypost.com)


In a recent list of the top grossing concerts in the USA , AC/DC ere listed at fourth and fifth.
4 - AC/DC, WIDE MOUTH MASON - Fargodome-Fargo, N.D. (April 29). Total Sales $887,598.
5 - AC/DC, WIDE MOUTH MASON - E Center-West Valley City, Utah. (April 12). Total Sales $466,650.

Subsequent concerts namely by U2 may supersede this figures , but the figures are quite impressive anyway.

The rescheduled date for the cancelled Madison gig is the 11th May and the Detroit concert is now on the 12th May.
The Albany show was also switched from the 7th May to the 9th May.

Rising Power web site reports that a new CD called "Stiff Upper Lip Tour Package" (a digipack) will be officially released on May 29 (France). The record company is said to be very quitet about this release and we can expect 2 CDs of unreleased live material!!


Sick Upper Throat !
AC/DC's Detroit concert for the 2nd May and the gig for the 1st May in Madison, Wis were reported to be cancelled, due to frontman Brian Johnson suffering from throat problems, according to promoters. The band plans to reschedule the dates.

Classic Rock UK Rock magazine "Classic Rock" May 2001 issue features Angus Young on the cover as well as an article by Mick Wall where he asks Angus Young and Ozzy Osbourne on their views of major rock festivals.


Warrant - Under the InfluenceThe band Warrant are to release an album called "Under the influence" in June which will feature a cover version of the classic AC/DC track Down Payment Blues.

AC/DC music has apparentenly been used in a TV commercial in Australia and New Zealand for Holden (Cars/trucks)
The track used is a version of Thunderstruck believed to be played by a tribute band.
