Media Release - September 2000 AC/DC 'Hometown Tribute' Album Launch GOH International is proud to announce the launch of its AC/DC 'Hometown Tribute' album. The launch will be on Saturday 18th of November at the Fremantle Town Hall, as part of this year's Fremantle Festival. The GOH International 'Hometown Tribute' album pays particular homage to Bon Scott, one of Australia's greatest Rock Icons. Born in Scotland, raised in Fremantle, Bon became, and still is, a legend of the Rock World. The GOH International tribute acknowledges Bon's contribution to West Australian culture and his contribution to the international history of Rock'n'Roll. The 'Hometown Tribute' album was produced in Perth, Western Australia and it features the talents of 12 of our best local Rock Bands. Each Band has contributed one classic AC/DC track to the album, but the track has been performed in their own unique style. A limited edition SHAPED CD single will be released as a collectors' item to mark the album launch. The CD single features the local band Rawkus performing their version of 'Long Way To The Top' and Scott Arnold-Eyers performing 'Dog Eat Dog'. A snap off tab from the CD single acts as the ticket to the concert. According to David Cobbold, Managing Director of GOH International: "Perth is the only city on the planet who can really do a hometown tribute to Bon Scott. I've just got back from PopKomm, a massive music conference in Germany and there was a lot of interest in this album. In fact, GOH has just received an advance order for the album from Switzerland, of all places, so you can see the global appeal of this project." GOH International would like to thank the Australia Council, Commerce and Trade and the South Australian Arts Department, all of whom made the PopKomm trip possible. Their backing enabled GOH International to promote a wealth of West Australian talent overseas and the commercial results of this promotion are already evident. Indeed GOH International's PopKomm mission has dramatically increased the worldwide export of WA music. The worldwide launch of the AC/DC 'Hometown Tribute' album can be enjoyed by West Australians on Saturday November 18th, in the Fremantle Town Hall. The event is part of the Fremantle Festival. GOH International wishes to thank: Fremantle Festival, Survival Studio, Aqua Audio, Seeing Ear, Victoria Bitter, Ferrari Formal Wear, West Coast Liquor Co. ***
