AC/DC Set To Release New Album This Year
The waiting is almost over! AC/DC fans can expect the band's next album of new material sometime later this year.
The band are currently recording in Vancouver with producer Brendan O'Brien and long time audio engineer Mike Fraser.
This will be the band's first collection of new material since the release of Stiff Upper Lip in 2000.

The comedy film Totally Baked (Unrated) is released on DVD on 22nd April 2008
The Executive Producer of the film is Brian Johnson, and the soundtrack features 3 Brian Johnson songs.
The tracks featured are "Chain gang on the road", "Chase the tail" and "Who phoned the Law". As the songs were also part of the Classic Rock Cares project they probably feature Cliff Williams as well.
Mark Evans and Lucy De Soto Help Raise Funds In The Name of Pete Wells
Lucy De Soto and former AC/DC bass player Mark Evans has rounded up the Rose Tattoo bandmates of the late Pete Wells and his own buddy Dave Tice for a benefit gig to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
"The band for the night features three of Pete's cohorts from The Tatts, Angry Anderson, Mick Cocks & Paul Demarco, along with yours truly on bass and Pete's long time musical partner in crime Lucy De Soto on keyboards. Special Guests will include Dave Tice.......and more, it could be a long night," Mark tells Undercover News.
The gig will also be the official launch of the last CD of Wells, 'Bodgie Dada'. "It's been just over 2 years since we lost Pete to prostate cancer", Mark said.
The gig will take place next Thursday, April 24 in Sydney at the Bridge Hotel in Rozelle.

Fremantle Launches The Bon Scott Project
The City of Fremantle is presenting the Bon Scott Project, an event to mark the life and times of their historic rocker Bon Scott.
The Project, which will take place at the Fremantle Arts Centre from May 17-June 29, will features works from 19 artists honoring the late AC/DC singer.
Although Scott died in London and lived in Sydney and Melbourne in his day with AC/DC, he is still remembered as the boy from Fremantle.
Scott was raised in North Fremantle and was laid to rest in the city following his death in 1980.
The Bon Scott Project is designed to bring together the stories about Bon from the fans moreso than traditional media.
As part of the Project, fans can contribute to the Bon Scott Blog at bonscottblog.com.
The Project will also display Bon's private letters. The letters show has bawdy and humorous side but also offer an insight never before seen into the personality of the man.
There will also be one-off events during the Project. The Ugly/Sexy Factor: Bon Scott and Fashion will debate how Bon influenced fashion over the years with his skinny jeans style.
The Bon Scott Project has also commissioned a tribute band called FAC/DC. 'Facca Dacca' features Dom Mariani (The Stems), Steve Joines (The Kill Devil Hills), Vanessa Thornton (Jebediah), Clair French (Sure-Fire Midnights) and Warren Hall (The M-16s). Facca Dacca will play one night in honor of Bon.
Australian hard rock icons AC/DC are getting closer to ending an eight-year drought of new music. "God, I'm ready," bassist Cliff Williams, who was in L.A. to participate at the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp, tells Spinner. To that end, the group will hit the studio March 1.
Almost as long as the wait for new music is the band's absence from the stage. Tour plans, however, aren't as firm. "If we go out again or when we go out again," Williams said. "You just never know. We've been around a long time, so we're going to get together and get in the studio and I fully expect we will [tour.]. I don't mean to be so negative about that. [When] the last tour ended in early '01, you'd see kids on their dads' shoulders. And these kids were like 10, 12 years old. It will be tremendous to see that again. And it's very cool -- younger kids getting into older music."

Sony BMG's are releasing the High Definition Blu-Ray disc of "AC/DC - Live at Donnington" on 16th October.
This disc is a high-definition disc and is compatible only with Blu-ray players. It will not play on a standard DVD player.

Party Boys.

AC/DC is finally selling its music digitally. But not on iTunes.
Verizon Wireless has snagged the exclusive rights to sell the band's entire back catalog through March 2008, becoming the first and only digital music store to offer the Australian combo's content.
However, the deal is limited to full-album downloads, one of the reason's AC/DC's music has not appeared in digital form to date. Since full album downloads are too large and too expensive to sell from mobile phones, Verizon is only selling them from the PC version of its VCast Music service for $12 an album.

The brand spanking new Bon Scott Aussie Rock Website will now be launched on Wednesday 1 August 2007!
It will have video and audio clips from the Bon Scott Celebration Concert held at the Clarement Showgrounds on 25 February 2007 as well as all the current news on the Concert CD and DVD release dates. Pre-orders will be available for the CD which will mean that all of you who make pre-orders will receive your copy of the CD early and it will be autographed by some of the artists who appeared on the day.

Brian and Cliff to perform at Charity Concerts
The John Entwistle Foundation is a mission devoted to providing free music education and instruments for underprivileged children through the public library system in the United States. The organization is proud to announce a special summer fundraising concert tour featuring several rock legends on one stage:
- Brian Johnson & Cliff Williams of AC/DC
- Mark Farner formerly of Grand Funk Railroad
- Joe Lynn Turner formerly of Deep Purple/Rainbow
- Steve Luongo of The John Entwistle Band
This unique show uses a single backing band comprised of world class musicians led by drummer Steve Luongo of The John Entwistle Band. Doing this allows some of rock's premier voices to walk on stage and sing only their biggest hits.
Joe Lynn Turner sings the best of Deep Purple and Rainbow. Mark Farner takes the stage to sing and play guitar as he launches into the most memorable Grand Funk Railroad hits. The final set features Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams, Steve Luongo and Mark Hitt who perform mega-chart busting AC/DC hits along with their own new material.
After almost two solid hours of non-stop classic rock all of the musicians join together for the encore, Highway To Hell. Classic Rock Cares will perform a limited number of shows during the month of July.
These concerts raise money for the John Entwistle Foundation. The John Entwistle Foundation was named for the late bassist of The Who. In addition to the primary mission of free and easy access to music education, the foundation has also raised significant funds for disaster relief including donations to The Red Cross and The Florida Hurricane Relief Fund. The John Entwistle Foundation is a United States Government approved 501(c)(3) non profit foundation.

According to Australia's The Age, the Bon Scott celebration concerts in AC/DC Lane and Perth not only raised enough money for a statue of the Australian music legend, an additional $50,000 was donated to the Australian music industry charity, Support Act Limited.

As previously reported, AC/DC's classic song "Highway to Hell" has been nominated in the "Most Performed Australian Work Overseas" category at the 25th Australian Performing Rights Association (APRA) awards.
The 20,000 members of APRA will decide the winners of the awards honoring songwriters. The ceremony will be held on June 5 in Melbourne.

schedule. Asked about the significance of Alice Springs, Young says it's a
gesture of giving back and he wants to take a major tour off the main road.
The tour is likely to happen early next year."

The Mirror newspaper in the UK (Irish edition) featured a report that promotors where trying to get AC/DC to play Slane Castle.
ROCK superstars AC/DC have been asked to headline next summer's spectacular
in Slane.
Bosses are banking on the group to sign a contract for a massive one-off
show before 90,000 fans and help it become Ireland's music Mecca again.
Secret negotiations have been taking place to lure the Let There Be Rock
stars to Ireland for a rare appearance.
Slane suffered a huge blow over the past two years when Eminem cancelled a
sold-out gig in 2005 and no act signed up this year.
A source revealed: "At this stage AC/DC are the number one target for Slane
2007. The show would be a huge hit and help Slane become the talk of the
music world again.
"AC/DC are one of the biggest selling bands in history and they would
definitely sell somewhere as big as Slane out."
AC/DC have sold over 160 million albums since they launched in 1973.
They are also negotiating outdoor concerts in London, France and Germany
next summer.

on a Beatles compilation tribute album. "Butchering the Beatles" is realeased
by Restless Records on the 24th October.
Chris plays on the track "Hey Jude" and Simon plays on the track "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds".

Kerrang Awards 24th August 2006 - London (UK Magazine)
AC/DC guitarist Angus Young was crowned Kerrang! Legend. His band graced the first ever cover of the magazine back in 1981. Kerrang! editor Paul Brannigan called them 'one of the most important and influential rock bands in history'.

Former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade recently joined the all female AC/DC tribute band
ThunderHerStruck on stage and played on a rendition of "Let there be Rock". The gig was
a release party of the girls new CD.
Chris also played a gig with ThunderHerStruck in Afghanistan back in March when the girls played for the US Forces there.

However It is concerning that the cover for the DVD features a band line-up featuring Simon Wright when the drummer on the actual album was Phil Rudd.
According to a recent newspaper article Mr James Young (no relation and the buyer of Bon Scott's love letters in a recent auction) is planning on
putting the love letters that Bon wrote to Irene on display in the Cherry Bar in AC/DC Lane in Melbourne.

AC/DC frontman's grave to get new plaque
The National Trust of Australia (NTA) plans to replace a plaque honouring former AC/DC frontman Bon Scott that was stolen from Fremantle Cemetery in Western Australia at the weekend.
It has taken 26 years for the gravesite of the late rocker to be listed as a heritage and cultural icon and only five months for the plaque to be stolen.
NTA spokesman Carl Haynes says it is WA's first contemporary listing and needs a plaque.
"We're talking to the cemeteries so in the very near future we'll arrange for them a replacement," he said.

Fremantle grave on what would have been the rocker's 60th birthday.
The National Trust of Australia brass plaque is believed to have been stolen
from the grave at Fremantle Cemetery at the weekend.
