Thanks to Capper Deluxe
Subject: Launch.Com transcript

babygirl1971_99: When does the US tour start?

launch_acdc: Angus: at the moment, we haven't penned in any dates as of yet, but forthcoming soon.

lexicon28amp: I have heard that some of the members of AC/DC live in my home state of Florida, is this true?

launch_acdc: Brian: Yes, there's two of us. I live in Sarasota, and Cliff lives in Ft. Meyers. Floridians!

angusite: Brian~ I saw a recent photo of you in Rolling Stone Magazine. It showed you wearing a wedding band. When did you remarry?

launch_acdc: Brian: That was an old photo.

lexicon28amp: This question is for Mr. Johnson, I picked up an albub of your old band Jordan9Ihope I got the name right) and I was wondering how many albums u guys put put before u joined AC/DC?

launch_acdc: Brian: Two albums and four singles.

sultry_shannon: What's Angus's favorite beer?

launch_acdc: Angus: Tea.

bryangoon_99: How come you wouldnt let the BEASTIE BOYS use the "Back In Black" sample on the soung the song "Rock Hard"?

launch_acdc: Angus: 'Cause they paid cheap and it was cheap theft.

harleybla_2000: how bout' putting some computer stuff on one of the band's cd

launch_acdc: Could you be more specific?

King_of_the_Slimes: Are there any newer groups that you really like?

launch_acdc: Angus: I wouldn't really know any newer bands. We're past the pimple stage!

meanstreak5: Good evening Angus and Brian! It has been rumored that you guys will be doing a "Behind The Music" special for VH-1. Is this true?

launch_acdc: Angus: Yes, it is. It'll probably be pretty soon now, I think. I know they're putting material together, and we've done some interviews.

powerage84: Do you plan on bringing back any old classics like "Live Wire" "Guns for Hire" or the best angus strip song "bad boy boogie" back to this tour?

launch_acdc: Angus: We've always got surprises, so, you know, that could be.

goldleader_1998: If Weird Al wanted to make a parody of one of your songs, would you mind?

launch_acdc: Angus: I think Mr. Yankovic already has, somebody said it was "Highway To Hell."

angusite: Does the band have an "official" website? There are a ton of them out there.

launch_acdc: Angus: No, we don't. There's one done by our record company, Elektra. www.Elektra.com.

banshee962: I have been going to your concerts since 1978....sometimes I think I'm getting too old for the trip. How do you guys manage to keep it up?

launch_acdc: Angus: They don't wheel us in yet.

pikachu_03_77: How do you guys feel about your upcoming appearance on Saturday Night Live?

launch_acdc: Angus: It could be fun. It's a surprise what we're playing...

Gr8Jason: Angus, How did the schoolboy uniform really get started?

launch_acdc: Angus: Well, my sister came up with the idea. She got it off the back of her sewing machine.

powerage84: Do you guys think you would have made it as big or lasted as long as you have today if Bon were still with us? Also, had he written any good and solid "album" material before he left us all?

launch_acdc: Angus: It's hard to tell in the world, because there's no roadmaps to life. It's an unanswerable question. He had written some ideas but these all went to his parents when he died, all his personal stuff.

goldleader_1998: Of all the cities you've toured in world-wide....what city stands out in your mind as having the loudest fans?

launch_acdc: Brian: I think that's a tough one because all the fans pride themselves on being the noisiest, and that's too close to call, you know, 'cause all of our fans are real good, ya know?

hobbit20_99: what was your motivation for "you shook me all night long"

launch_acdc: Angus: L.A. earthquakes.

LyndseyLaunch: what took so long for this album to come out?

launch_acdc: Brian: We finished in '96 about November, and then we were gonna get started on the new album, the compilation set, and it took just a little longer than we thought. The boys have been real busy, we haven't been sittin' down doin' nothin', we haven't been idle.

bryangoon_99: Did Angus Young sell his soul to the devil so he could play guitar like htat?

launch_acdc: Angus: We're on first-name terms. We do lunch.

bunbunn1: If you all weren't rock and roll stars, what would you do?

launch_acdc: Brian: I guess we'd be workin' for a livin'! But we'd still be playin' in a band, playin' music of some kind. If you love music you're always gonna be playin' it.

lexicon28amp: AC/DC are like the Ramones of heavy metal a formula that never rerally changed but always kicked ass,oh and who does most of the songwriting?

launch_acdc: Angus: Who are the Ramones? Malcolm Young and me. And Brian's also done songwriting.

goldleader_1998: What is the last album you guys purchased?

launch_acdc: Angus: Muddy Waters, Hard Again.

dirtyman25: Angus what is the best advice you have for coming up with a smoking solo?

launch_acdc: Angus: Smoke a lot of cigarettes. And I do!

nikon33: what was your most fun album to make

launch_acdc: Brian: I've had more fun on this one that anybody's supposed to have. I don't think anybody's supposed to have this much fun!

giveitup_47421: have you ever considered putting out a compilation of unreleased tracks from back in black on for the fans?

launch_acdc: Angus: Well, when we made Back In Black, at the time we had covered all the tracks. At the time we wrote two in the Bahamas when we completed it.

dominion12_2000: What do you guys feel is your best song in your opinion?

launch_acdc: Angus: Geez, we've got 17 albums. So they're all full of great songs.

dirtyman25: angus who was your biggest guitar influence?

launch_acdc: Angus: I would say my brother Malcolm.

Tejas_Tim: Would you recommend a rock lifesyle to your children?

launch_acdc: Brian: Nothin' wrong with it! I've had a good time, why should I keep it all for meself?

marcushookroll: Brian, when an AC/DC song comes on the radio do you sing along?

launch_acdc: Brian: LOL. Yeah, but when nobody's lookin' at me! Angus: I've caught him! Brian: I don't want anybody to think I'm a bighead, showin' off.

angusite: What does it take to get backstage after a show? Besides doing favors for the security crew.

launch_acdc: Angus: LOL. Brian: You gotta be a prizewinner, and I'm bein' serious now.

Usually have some organized radio station function, and we'll always organize some sort of competition, and that's the best way. The real fans would get a bigger buzz being backstage, so we try to get the real fans backstage.

angusyoungisgod: ANGUS..U GUYS PLAY A LOT OF BLUES WITH UR ROCK'N'ROLL..WHO WERE SOME OF YOUR INFLUENCES

launch_acdc: Angus: Elmer James, and I like Tampa Red. The guitar wizard, they called him.

banshee962: Angus, have you ever considered playing a different guitar than the Gibson?

launch_acdc: Angus: I have some at home, a couple of acoustic and a couple of other brand names, I suppose. But I like the Gibson SG, with the little devil horns on it.

capper_d: there's a lot of talk this year about restarting the Monsters of rock , would you guys play if asked?

launch_acdc: Angus: I think we've been asked, every country in the world where we've been doing press, but we're not confirming anything until we know ourselves specific dates and places. We don't wanna start more rumors.

stoneytokes: to Angus" Why it it you moon every one in concert?

launch_acdc: Angus: I'm showing my best assets. Smooth as a baby's bum, as they say.

jake_25314: brian, what did you think of melissa etheride doing "you shook me all night long"?

launch_acdc: Brian: Ah, she done a great job! She really did. She's got a good set of pipes, that lass! Angus: Are those pipes squeezable? LOL.

lakland_192: Angus, how did you get roped into the auction for a guitar lesson? Are you looking forward to it?

launch_acdc: Angus: Yep. It should be good fun. It's a children's charity, and they work a lot with children, and in fact over the years behind the scenes we've met quite a few people with children's charities, and in our case this is the first time you've seen the charity name involved.

bnl_luv: How many kids do each of you have and if so, how old are they now?

launch_acdc: Brian: Mind your own business.

giveitup_47421: angus do you still take your tape recorder with you on tour?do you and mal write songs on the bus and stuff?

launch_acdc: Yes.

banshee962: Angus & Malcolm....now that Mutt's gone country, were you excited to get back to having your brother produce like in the early days?

launch_acdc: Angus: Yes, it was good workin' with my brother again 'cause he's got a great rock 'n' roll history, and he loves his rock 'n' roll like me, Malcolm and all the guys. And as Brian can tell you he shares our brand of humor also.

live_wire_01473: Hey, great show last night boys! my question is, I can understand AND agree with you not wanting such releases as Alright Tonight and Let it Loose to be leaked. But how do you guys feel about the casual bootlegger. you know, the guy who sneaks a tape recorder in and trafdes it with some Aussie? Obviously you know it happens so much. would love to know your thoughts on it. Jay

launch_acdc: Angus: Well, it's the quality, it's usually pretty poor quality. So it's probably a bit of a rip-off, for somebody to bootleg and then sell it.

mewflamer: Do you plan to make an auto-biography?

launch_acdc: Angus: AC/DC as a band, the book's got a lot more chapters to come.

DM101Fan: Angus......doesn't your neck hurt after a concert?

launch_acdc: Angus: LOL. Usually my whole body. Brian: My neck hurts just watchin' him! Angus: Have I got a neck?

angusyoungisgod: BRIAN--HOW MANY HATS DO U OWN?? OR GO THRU EVERY TOUR??

launch_acdc: Brian: I usually keep the same one 'til the end of the tour, then we auction it off to charity. That's what we usually do.

markybillson: Brian- Could you tell me whatever came about with the 24 hrs of Daytona auto race you were thinking of competing in? What's the biggest race you've won?

launch_acdc: Brian: The biggest race was at Sebring. Which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'll be doin' the Daytona in a couple of years with LeMans, after the tour.

powerage84: Speaking of your acoustic guitar, would you ever consider doing some acoustic, or "unplugged" material live?

launch_acdc: Angus: You mean like undrugged, or something? Well I think on acoustics, we play acoustics like we're plugged.

rocketman1717: There is a lot of talk about rock is dead, that its there era of hip hop do you think that its true?

launch_acdc: Angus: Rock music will never be dead. Brian: Forget about it. Not while the sherrif's in town!

jsolttila: Brian, Who was your singer influence???

launch_acdc: Brian: Pretty easy, really. Little Richard. But Little Richard, he took some beatin', that lad, you know?

goldleader_1998: Angus, when you were growing up, how many hours each day would you say that you practiced playing the guitar? How many hours do you practice each day now?

launch_acdc: Angus: I think when I grew up, I practiced at least half the day, I think, especially in my teenage years. But now I play mostly when I feel like it.

LyndseyLaunch: do you try to save your voice when you're on the road?

launch_acdc: Brian: Well, basically it just depends on the schedule. Lots of times we'll have five or six gigs a week, and it's very difficult for me to keep me mouth shut. I try not to talk and save me voice for the night. It's not too difficult, and I've been very, very lucky.

found822: Where did you come up with the idea for the Angus Dollar?

launch_acdc: Angus: It was just, at the time it seemed like a fun thing, and they now tell me that some of those dollars in Europe they're value's gone up tenfold. It's worth more than some legal currency!

motloman: Have you ever think in the possibility of retirement?

launch_acdc: Angus: Well we haven't received our gold watches yet.

g_l_cooper: Do you get a lot of women flashing you at concerts

launch_acdc: Angus: Yes. I would say that there's a lot of flashing at our concerts. I always miss them.

newtle: Do you guys have any input on your album cover designs? How does that get done?

launch_acdc: Angus: Yeah, we do, and sometimes we might design the whole thing or give inspiration for the whole thing, and sometimes our company might come up with the whole thing. But we do give a lot of input.

ballbreaker375: Brian, can you remember what you were doing when you first heard that the guys were interested in you?

launch_acdc: Brian: I was hard at work. In Newcastle. That was quite hard to believe! LOL. A dream gig everybody dreams of!

pikachu_03_77: Did you guys hear any of the AC/DC Tribute album "Thunderbolt" and if so, what did you think?

launch_acdc: Brian and Angus: We haven't heard of it yet.

heatzeeker_2000: How did you guys feel about Marilyn Manson covering "Highway to Hell"?

launch_acdc: Angus: Haven't heard that one either! LOL. Brian: LOL. She's dead, isn't she? Charlie Manson.

meanstreak5: Brian - Do you happen to know if the record company will be releasing Stiff upper Lip on Vinyl in the U.S.?

launch_acdc: Brian: I have no idea. I know there has been a trend of late to release limited numbers, and that's a good question. I may have to look into that meself. I LIKE VINYL.

fixxxer96: Are the backstage parties as wild and crazy as I've heard?

launch_acdc: Angus: It depends on if they bring their own booze.

markybillson: Brian- Could you tell us how you came about wearing a hat all the time?

launch_acdc: Brian: Sure, my hair is pretty wild. Angus: He combs it with a hand grenade. Brian: To keep it in check I would wear a hat to stop the sweat from rollin' in me eyes, and it became part of the persona and I just kept wearin' it, you know?

goldleader_1998: If you could tour with any band (past or present), who would you choose?

launch_acdc: Angus: I think the Beatles, I think everyone would like to tour with the original Beatles.

embrendo: you guys seem to have regained that classic ac?dc sound. to what do you tribute that to?

launch_acdc: Brian: Being AC/DC helps. Angus: Good living.

powerage84: Brian, when you first joined the band, what was the general response from the audience/fans? A warm welcome or people trying to compare you with Bon?

launch_acdc: Brian: The first gig, which was in Belgium, it was one of the happiest nights of me life, and unscariest. I mean scariest. I think the fans realized what I was going through and they really cheered me on. They were wonderful, they really were great.

Gr8Jason: Do you know how big the biggest crowd you ever played in for was and where it was?

launch_acdc: Angus: I believe it was in Moscow. Brian: It was '91, wasn't it? Angus: They stopped counting, I believe, after 600,000. Some estimates were at a million, some said close. The city gave free transport to everyone.

eganirish: what's the secret to staying together as a band?

launch_acdc: Brian: Sense of humor! Angus: A good brand of deodorant.

miles_davis18: what advie do you give to young aspiring musicians

launch_acdc: Angus: If they have something they believe original, and that's themselves, then stick with it.

devils_candy1363: What was the wildest thing a fan ever did that you witnessed?

launch_acdc: Brian: I think that had to be in Germany. LOL. We were playing onstage and I don't know if it was Berlin or Munich, a huge sports auditorium, and this guy and woman were just casually screwin' each other right in the audience, and the spotlight caught them and they didn't stop, the audience just cheered them on. That was pretty wild. I think it's on video!

Angus3430: During time between albums and tours, do you guys get together occasionally and just jam for fun?

launch_acdc: Angus: Yeah, sure. As a band, we always try to keep contact with each other so when we do get together we've got a lot of the rust out. We don't become squeaky. LOL.

airraid_666: Does Phil Rudd still pick his nose with the drumsticks? like you said on let there be rock video?

launch_acdc: Brian: I friggin' hope not! As we're standing in front of him!

rumpleforskin1234: Angus have you ever tried to rap?

launch_acdc: Angus: If you listen to Back In Black, that's pretty much close to I guess what people would call a rap.

powerage84: I've heard about "Bedlam in Belgium" being about an actual historical even for you (please forgive me for not being sure, i wasn't around back then.) are there any other songs you've done about personal experiences?

launch_acdc: Angus: It is true, actually. There was a riot in Belgium once when we performed.

nikon33: angus my thumb hurts when i play guitar any comments how i could make this stop

launch_acdc: Angus: Quit suckin' it.

embrendo: brian what do you do to prepare for a show? with your voice?

launch_acdc: Brian: Not much, just get meself pumped up with the boys in the dressin' room. Just pull the trigger. Simple as ever, just get on and pull the trigger! Angus: Hey, that was a good one! LOL. He doesn't mean Trigger from Roy Rogers!

eric_l_swartz: Will we ever hear the music that didnt make the cd?

launch_acdc: Angus: We don't know about the future, but at the moment there's no plans to release anything.

the_jack_1965: angus is it true that you smashed your front teeth with your gitar

launch_acdc: Angus: I've had my front teeth banged by my guitar a few times, yes. My dentist loves me. Brian: LOL

mewflamer: If I made an AC/DC website what should I call it?

launch_acdc: Angus: Let's see... Brian: Let me think here...we'll get back to you in a minute.

devils_candy1363: Angus, you are considered a demigod..watchin you on stage as you play is totally mesmerizing..do you have a fave song from the new track?

launch_acdc: Angus: I'm biased, I like them all, but I like "Stiff Upper Lip."

goodolrocknroll: WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK OF BUTT HEAD WEARING THE AC/DC SHIRT?

launch_acdc: Angus: It was good fun. I don't know him personally, but it was good fun.

angusite: Have you ever found a woman who could do justice to the Ballbreaker Outfit?

launch_acdc: LOL/ Angus: Now that would be giving away secrets. Brian: But I'd love to see them try! LOL.

launch_acdc: Brian: I have a name for the website...just a thought: Ocka Rocka. Ocka is a buddy, a friend in Australia.

giveitup_47421: what do you think is your most underrated album?

launch_acdc: Angus: An album I love a lot is Powerage. Brian: I think Flick Of The Switch, it's starting to get recognized as a real rock album, it's starting to get appreciated now for what it really was. No singles, just exactly what we did at the time. People should check out some of the songs on that.

Mervv69: do you enjoy performing now as much as in previous years?

launch_acdc: Angus: We always enjoy performing. Brian: Even better now.

launch_acdc: Angus: For all the AC/DC fans, keep rockin' & rollin'! Brian: Just wanna thank you all for takin' the time to talk with us tonight! We've enjoyed every minute of it! Brian and Angus: Keep it stiff!
