In 1977 Atlantic Studios released a vinyl album mainly as a promotional release to radio stations and people in the recording industry in America
to help raise AC/DC's profile in the U.S.A. Although the album "Live from the Atlantic Studios" did not make it to CD until the 1997 release of the AC/DC box set Bonfire
the early vinyl promo release of this album became much sought after by collectors. The album also ended up being heavily reproduced on the bootleg market and in a bizarre twist of fate
AC/DC had to take 30 seconds of the opening intro section from a bootleg recording when they released the remastered version on the Bonfire box set. This was due to the original master tapes missing part
of the opening section of the album.
Recorded 7th December 1977 at Atlantic Studios
