Review by Tony Ursitti
I went to last nights show in toronto, and there is only one word to describe that, WOW!
I've seen ac/dc before but this past concert was so good, i mean i can't hear shit today my voice is ruined for a week, trying to out yell Brian (who by the way is just fine, no hip problems)
Anyway gotta go, full marks to all ac/dc fans but overall Angus Brian Malcolm Cliff and Phil.
Rock on

Hey ac/dc fans. Went to the ac/dc show last night in Toronto. I gotta tell ya, I have been seeing these guys since the 1983 FOTS tour and they still got it. Loud as hell!! A couple of small changes.
1) they set off about 10 fire balls every 4-5 seconds during highway to hell.
2) the statue of angus with the smoke and fireworks was really cool.
3) Angus didn't walk into the crowd on security's shoulders this time.

Overall, it was a kickass show as always. They sold out last night and almost sold out tonight as well for the Air Canada Center. Picked up a couple of shirts of course, but they also had pins, hats, ac/dc earplugs??, leather jackets, and much more. I think it was pretty cool how they came on stage. No big entrance. The five of them walked out and waved. Then, Angus bent over and started his riff for You shook me all night long. It went crazy after that.
That's about it for now. Time to get some sleep and try to get my hearing and voice back.

Toronto kicked ass

All I have to say is WOW. Unbelieveable. It was a real treat and suprise to me because It was my first major arena concert for me ever!

I arrived at the ACC last night at about 7:10pm and listening to the opening band Slash it was alright and something different. Since this is the first time I seen it in an arena like that I thought it was ok but nothing special. I truthfully I knew that hadn't seen nothing yet! I thought overall they were about as loud as AC/DC I would say maybe for pure volume they weren't but since it was "Heavy Metal" it seemed quite loud I really don't like this time of music cause it just sounds like they bang away. and UNLIKE AC/DC. AC/DC is totally different to me They actually have riffs that sound great more bluesy, boogie powered rock to me. and even AC/DC says they are not Heavy Metal and BJ even says he hates the stuff. and to me it sounds way different anyway.

Ok to AC/DC First of all from what I could tell it was the same EXACT setlist as the previous tours.

JUST TOTALLY AWESOME. Every song just ROCKED. Even tunes like The Jack were great cause everything was cranked. Brian Johnson sounded great and was very animated shaking people's hands around the stage. There was something about Johnson's voice I liked there was a certain screech that he hit in some of the songs that really sounded unique.

There was only 2 songs played from SUL but that didn't matter. Get it Hot and Bad Boy Boogie was a treat and sounded great. I love Get it Hot it was awesome Johnson sounded great on this one when he kind of changed things up a bit "It's Hot" he said after saying "Get it Hot" a few times.

Speaking of Hot, right before the Back in Black song which was about 3/4's through the set Johnson started teasing by saying "Man it's getting hot hot hot" like meltdown and he tricked me thinking that Meltdown was coming up.

Songs that KICKED ASS MORE than anything was Satellite Blues, Let there be rock, For those about to rock, highway to hell (love the flames that were coming from the stage), Shot Down in Flames, Stiff Upper Lip, Back in Black, Get it Hot, Bad Boy Boogie was alright, R&R ain't noise pollution, Shoot to Thrill well hell every song kicked. I thought the lighting was great. Even tho I had so-so seats section 118 about 20 rows up. I was at the side but was a good view,

That video for Hard as a Rock was pretty funny, and during the Jack some chick showed her titties but the crowd didn't get too into it where I was sitting might have something to do with the rule of female's are allowed to bare their bare breasts in public something that we have in Canada. There was one when they panned around the camera one of the first ones they showed had a nice firm set of hooters that they zoomed on her but she didn't bare all (I think she had a orange top on)

I asked people's opinion before whether it was loud and it was, but It wasn't the type of loud I was expecting. I was expecting it to be painfully loud and I was as close as those speakers up above the stage as anyone could get. but it was really nice to listen to. Slash seemed to be more "painfully" loud probably the type of music/ even tho my ears are just fine no ringing at all after both sets. It was as loud enough for me to really enjoy it (especially the AC/DC show)

Another thing when Slash was on I would say the arena was about 1/3 full and EVERYBODY was sitting down and there wasn't very many people having too much of a reaction to it there was a few but not many (where I was anyway) BUT WHEN AC/DC CAME ON... Every sole (I thought) was STANDING IN THE ENTIRE ARENA and just going wild throughout the whole 1:45 to 2 hrs that AC/DC was on. No Bullshit either all songs with Angus cutting the licks down a bit it seemed from the Razors Edge or No Bull videos anyway.

AND ANGUS WAS AWESOME.

I thought the drums overall really had a big effect on the overall mix for pure loud sound. Overall powering everything but really everything I would say overall was awesome and about the right mix (maybe a touch mor e on the drums then I would regularing think)

I bought the white AC/DC T-Shirt with the group on the front and "Stiff Upper Lip World tour 2000" I really liked the black one better for graphics and it had the dates I think while the white one had just the stops on it. But the White one had written on it "STIFF UPPER LIP WORLD TOUR 2000" the big key factor being the year just kind of a memento anyway suvenior so when I look at it I can say "THIS WAS MY FIRST CONCERT EVER" and it says 2000 etc... I liked the front graphics with the picture of the band on the front to nice picture!

The shirts were $40 Canadian No Tax. $40 TOTAL! which is approx. 28-30 dollars US which isn't bad at all considering that shirt prices seem to be up this year during the first few shows in the stats.

JUST TOTALLY AWESOME I REALLY ENJOYED IT.

AC/DC's high voltage By JANE STEVENSON -- Toronto Sun AC/DC Air Canada Centre, Toronto Thursday, August 10, 2000 TORONTO -- The last time AC/DC performed in town -- at SkyDome in 1996 -- they brought cannons and confetti with them.

Last night at the Air Canada Centre, during the first show of a two-night stand at the venue, was no different.

This time, however, the raucous rockers from Down Under made no bones about their longtime, not-so-secret weapon.

Lead guitarist Angus Young, who's made private school uniforms an unlikely fashion statement of rebellion for almost 30 years, was immortalized in an enormous gold statue -- complete with red horns -- which emerged from behind two large screens on AC/DC's otherwise minimal stage.

And the rambunctious and rowdy Young, now 45 years old, was the first thing the sold-out crowd of 20,000 saw as he stood alone in a spotlight and played the opening chords of You Shook Me All Night Long.

Going for the obvious crowd pleaser appeared to be the way the audience liked it, judging from the number of raised arms in the air and people singing along with raspy-voiced singer Brian Johnson, who expertly worked the group's catwalk.

AC/DC's close relationship with the audience never really let up from there as hit after chugging guitar hit was churned out over the course of two hours.

You should have seen the way Young, a human dynamo who didn't stopped moving, bonded with his loyal following during an extended version of Bad Boy Boogie, which featured him performing a striptease down to his school uniform shorts.

He never actually mooned the audience. Instead, we got a glimpse of what appeared to be maple leaf-adorned boxer shorts.

Meanwhile, the new AC/DC material from this year's latest release, Stiff Upper Lip -- the band's 17th studio album -- was kept to a minimum.

Not that the audience seemed to mind, responding loudly to the title track and Satellite Blues alongside such old favourites as Thunderstruck, The Jack -- which prompted one young female fan to bare her breasts -- Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Back In Black and Whole Lotta Rosie.

Getting everyone in the mood earlier on was Hard As A Rock, which was accompanied by film footage showing everything from animals like turtles having sex to trains going through tunnels.

Subtlety has never been AC/DC's strong suit and they're clearly not about to change at this point in their 27-year career.

Another prop that got the big thumbs-up from the crowd was a large silver church bell which dropped from the ceiling before Johnson took a brief swing from it during -- you guessed it -- Hell's Bells.

There was also bursts of fire during Highway To Hell , and Let There Be Rock saw Young make his way down the catwalk to a smaller circular stage which elevated him high above the audience.

During the encore number, TNT, Young emerged on a platform from below the stage, and then it was time for the mighty cannons to make their appearance during the final song of the night, For Those About To Rock.

Let's face it.

With an arsenal like that, Slash's Snakepit, as in the band formed by former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, never really stood a chance as the opening act.
