Vincent Lovegrove (Former Short term Manager and Co Singer with Bon in the Valentines)

Vincent first entered the Australian rock industry during the 1960's and came to prominence, along with Bon Scott, in the sixties hit making group, The Valentines. The group originally hailed from Perth, but based themselves in Melbourne. They enjoyed three top ten hits and 5 top forty hits before eventually splitting in 1970.

Lovegrove then went on to become a journalist, columnist, television documentary maker, television presenter, television reporter, television producer, radio documentary maker, script editor and author. He is one of Australia's most experienced and knowledgeable commentators on music and the music industry.

He has made 5 television documentaries and countless radio documentaries, in addition to contributing to 7 books on Australian and international music, and 4 books on Aids. He has been the author of a book on Aids and has just completed a biography on Michael Hutchence which will be released in January 1999.

He came to the fore in documentary making in 1978 with the first ever international documentary on Australian music, entitled Australian Music To The World. This was followed in 1987 with a documentary Suzi's Story which was commissioned by Home Box Office in New York and 20th Century Fox in Hollywood. The film was about his wife who died of Aids. In 1994 he made another film about Aids, this time about his son, Troy, who also died of the disease. Both documentaries won more than 25 international awards each, including Emmy award nominations. Both films are still regularly shown around the world and are the most successful documentaries about Aids ever made.

He managed legendary rock group Cold Chisel for two years at the start of their career, and became manager of Divinyls from 1982 until 1985, taking them to the United States, and signing the band directly to an overseas company, the first time any Australian group had done this. Lovegrove was based in New York for 4 years during this period. In 1994 he once again turned to management for two years when he took Australian rock legend Jimmy Barnes to the south of France to re-establish Barnes' career. Lovegrove resigned from this position after 18 months to resume his own career of writing.

Lovegrove was also manager of AC/DC for a brief time in the early days of their career but he resigned to spend more time with his family.

He has since been an international correspondent for music, entertainment and social trends, for many international magazines and newspapers, whilst based in London. He became entertainment editor for the world's biggest and most successful travel magazine, TNT, based in London, and is now the magazine's regular features writer and columnist. He has also been writing "Lovegrove ear on London" on the Internet for 4 years.

Lovegrove is based in London, a bachelor again, single father again, a one time widower, and two times divorcee.

Vincent has just completed his second book, "Shining Through - Torn Apart", the biography of Michael Hutchence, and has been commissioned by Channel Four in London to research, script and narrate a four part television documentary on '80's rock music. He is about to start his third book, his first fiction effort, "Twelve Women Of The Apocalypse", a book of 12 short stories.
