Wilkes-Barre Review

This is the second of three shows I will attend this tour. Wilkes-Barre had the same exact set list as Philly. "Safe in NYC" was played instead of "Get it Hot". The only material difference in the two shows was the absence of pyros at the Philly show during "Highway to Hell". At Wilkes-Barre Pyros were everywhere during "Highway". Not sure why they were left out in Philly.

Brian was top-notch. Excellent voice throughout. A lot of energy. Shaking hands with the crowd, just having a great time. A one point, he went over to Cliff and held the microphone up to his mouth while Cliff was already doing background vocals. Cliff started laughing and they chummed about for a bit.

Angus was incredible as usual particularly on the solos of "The Jack" and "You Shook Me". They were flawless.

Malcolm, Phil, and Cliff are so solid it's frightening. Very intense. I could watch them play by them selves all night.

I have seen them 10 times since 1988 and I must say they've become a tighter (and yet more relaxed) and better sounding band through the years. And they were awesome back in '88. Can't wait for MSG Friday.

Review by Andrew Joseph Savona

August 22, 2000 Wilkes-Barre, PA USA

The Stage manager walks up to Cliff's microphone and announces:

"Here they are Wilkes-Barre - AC/DC!"

The band casually walks out on stage....Angus tips his hat and bowes to the crowd.

1. You Shook Me All Night Long - they changed the ending a bit to include a bit of the intro chords from Angus.
2. Stiff Upper Lip - The ANGUS Statue emerges
3. Shot Down In Flames
4. Thunderstruck
5. Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be
6. Hard As A Rock
7. Shoot To Thrill
8. Rock 'n' Roll Ain't Noise Pollution
9. Safe In NYC - a bit faster than the album
10. Bad Boy Boogie - Angus Strip (US FLAG shorts/Jam)
11. Hells Bells
12. Satellite Blues
13. The Jack
14. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
15. Back In Black
16. Highway To Hell
17. Whole Lotta Rosie
18. Let There Be Rock (Extra pyro/smoke explosions from behind Angus Statue)
~~~Encores~~~
19. T.N.T.
20. For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)
Another excellent show!
They don't use the stage runway into the crowd very much.
